Baylee M. Brown, a Mentor
TnTech Freshman Mentor
Delta Gamma Big Sister
As a Freshman Mentor for Tennessee Technological University I enjoy the opportunity to watch as first semester freshmen find their way around campus, in their studies, and within inner circles. By serving as a mentor for TnTech, I spend my time attending an extra class twice a week to answer questions, give advice, help students build their public speaking skills, and so much more!!

While working within this position, I too get to devote part of my time to lending a helping hand to Mrs. D. K. Allen, as she is the Freshman Connections Professor for my specific mentees each fall.
Although I am responsible for mentoring these young adults, I get as much out of this position as they do. Between my mentees and Mrs. Allen my life is filled with more laughter, encouragement, and lifelong memories!
The Big Sister Program is a privilege to be apart of. When taking on this role, women are responsible for taking a new member under their wing and mentoring her for the remainder of their time until graduation.
I work incredibly hard to bring strength, courage, and a sense of belonging to the two women whom chose me to mentor them. But along these lines, Isabel and Kayla have too taught me how to be a more compassionate, confident, and disciplined woman. I am the lucky one to have gotten their kind hearts.

"Baylee being my big sister showed me the true meaning of sisterhood. I’m so thankful I have someone who genuinely cares about my well being to be there for me and guide me in all the right directions! I would be lost without her and I am forever thankful for her strong values and dedication not only to our sisterhood, but to everything she does in life! Having someone so well rounded to look up to is amazing and I hope to grow and be just as successful and kindhearted as my big sister!" -- Isabel P.
